Gyan research and operational support teams do possess relevant experience to manage capital market deals and updates itself via regular interactions with Asset Managers, Brokers, Custodians as well as regular professional trainings, participation in relevant seminars and meetings organized by regulatory bodies, across the globe. The operational team does keep itself abreast to the updates from regulators in order to ensure our advised investment funds are following all regulatory norms. The team also keeps track of all investments, not only monitoring the settlement and ensuring all trades are settled accordingly in the respective exchanges by the fund, but also coordinates with various brokers for trades to follow best execution/practice manner.
Our Team also ensures, by thoroughly checking the liquidity of stocks that the fund is suggested to acquire and also ensures, it keeps all regulatory norms set forth by relevant capital market rules and regulations. All the regulatory norms are monitored on a frequent basis, checking the investment funds we advise, are aptly following all relevant and applicable license conditions for foreign shareholders. The Teams also monitors all required approvals and clearances to be in place for any activity, and checks if completed by the service providers on time. It analyzes multiple data sources and input processes and expresses recommendations to improve reliability, consistency of data and to prepare reports and presentations regarding the investments consumed by the fund to its stakeholder. It includes the following activities, too:
- Assist management teams in preparing investment reports, equity research reports and quarterly fund board member reports.
- Analyze and comment returns of various asset classes, monitoring markets relevant to the fund’s portfolio exposed to various primary and capital markets.
- Analyze and monitor portfolios and submit relevant updates from each jurisdiction to the board members and assisting in finalizing investment reports.
- Assist various research teams in compiling multiple data points such as financial research of companies, analysis of investment company objectives set against financial performance and derive financial trends.
- Monitor and assist the operations team with currency conversions.
- Assist the fund operations team in completing the orders placed by the relevant asset managers.The team’s regular call up of all investee companies in order to receive business updates directly from sources of relevance.
- Collection and critical analyses for the benefit of partnering asset managers on related topographical markets which the fund managers are concentrating to invest in order to complete their proprietary statistical data point models.
- Gyan adopts regular interaction updates with Custodians, Bankers, and other service providers of the investment funds and collects their updates to provide the same back to their management.
Aviator Global Investment Fund (“AGIF”)
Gyan currently advises and manages the investments made by AGIF in achieving its investment objectives. AGIF invests amongst others, in the securities of emerging market companies listed on a stock exchange, the securities of companies whose business interests are closely related to or which derive or expect to derive a significant part of their revenues and /or profits from emerging markets or which have or expect to have substantial assets in the emerging market world. AGIF may also, subject to local regulations, invest in unlisted securities, including debt and equity issued by Corporates as described above. AGIF, being a CIS Fund as per the Laws of the Republic of Mauritius, is regulated by the Financial Services Commission Mauritius (“FSC Mauritius”). The fund follows IFRS accounting standards and entertains several relationships also into India.
The current AuM of AGIF as at Jan 31, 2020 is around USD 125 Million, incl. Cash/Cash equivalents, capital commitments and deployed capital. Below is a brief synopsis of the industry wise portfolio allocation. Funds’ investors are institutional clients, only, domiciled and/or regulated by relevant authorities in FATF (Financial Action Task Force) “white listed” jurisdictions. All investors are on-boarded through a rigorous AML policy process, implemented and performed independently by the respectively licensed and regulated fund administrator in Mauritius.
